Information greatly affects the decisions you make - the more you know about the laws and penalties imposed by the State of Arizona on DUI offenders, the more unlikely you are to get behind the wheel after drinking.

If you are found have less than .08 percent alcohol in your blood at the time of your arrest, you are considered to be "impaired to the slightest degree" and will be sentenced to 10 days in jail (with nine days suspended provided you attend and complete an alcohol education seminar).

You need to pay about $1,450 (minimum) in fines, but the judge can impose as much as $2,500 and send you to jail for six months. These penalties apply if your blood alcohol concentration is between .08 percent to less than .15 percent.

If your offense is more serious, and you are found to have .15 percent blood alcohol concentration, be prepared to spend more time in jail - 30 days, with 20 days suspended provided you finish alcohol screening and education and agree to equip your vehicle with an "ignition interlock device."

The judge can impose higher penalties, especially if it is your second offense. You can spend as much as 6 months in jail, pay much more than $2,500 in fees and surcharges and be subject to about 3 years of probation.

Remember that the State of Arizona does not have to prove that you have a blood alcohol concentration of at least .08 percent to convict you - if they find any trace of alcohol and prove that it impairs your ability to drive, you can be convicted.

Be safe and do not drive when you've had drinks, even if it is just an ounce or two. Ask friends to drive you home, or hail a cab. When it comes to DUI, the old adage still makes sense - it is better to be safe than be sorry.

Child support plays a major role when it comes to providing support for a custodial parent's child/children. In today's world, a working single parent must provide for there children the best way possible. The Division of Arizona Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) helps both the custodial and non-custodial parent establish, collect, and enforce child support payments.

Applying for Child Support Laws

Child support services are offered to both the custodial and non-custodial parents. These services provide the custodial parents with establishing paternity and child support, locating the non-custodial parents, and enforcing Arizona child support laws.

These services are automatically provided for families who are receiving public assistance under the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program. Parents who are not under the program can still receive free services from the (DCSE) by filling out an application to have child support enforcement services provided for you.

When filling out the application, be prepared to provide information such as the non-custodial parent's full name, address, and the SSN, the address of their recent employer, information on the non-custodial parents income or any assets they may attain.

Establishing Child Support laws

When establishing child support, the DCSE office will work with both custodial and non-custodial parents. When child support is established, the court will then determine the amount of money the non-custodial parent will pay each month. The court will also decide which parent will provide medical support for the child/children.

When a non-custodial parent avoids paying their child support obligations, the Arizona DCSE will enforce several methods to motivate the parents to pay. These methods include income withholdings, new hire reporting, liens against any property they may own, suspension of driver's license, passport denial, and the interception of any lottery winnings. Every state adheres to different lemon laws. If you live in Arizona, the Arizona Lemon Law is detailed in the Arizona Revised Statues, sections 44-1261 to 44-1267.

The Arizona Lemon Law declares that if your recently purchased vehicle doesn't meet the warranties that came with it from the car's manufacturer, the warranty's issuer or the dealer, they are completely responsible for conducting any repairs necessary to bring the vehicle up to code.

If the Arizona Lemon Law is broken, you have a few options.

Should the vehicle's dealer, authorized agent or manufacturer cannot bring the vehicle to meet the terms of the warranty by repairing or replacing effective components, and the vehicle remains unsafe to use or greatly reduced in value, the agent, manufacturer or dealer needs to:

Completely refund the cost of the vehicle once it is returned to them. This refund must encompass the full scope of guarantee charges, minus a sensible allowance for mileage as delineated in the Arizona Lemon Law, sections 44-1261 to 44-1267.

Should the Arizona Lemon Law be severely violated, the vehicle must be replaced with a brand new vehicle. If the vehicle's purchaser decides to take legal action against the opposing party and emerge from the process victorious, they purchaser is also entitled to reimbursement for their legal fees.

These statues don't necessarily mean that the vehicle dealer, agent or manufacturers are losers under the law. These parties have the right to defense themselves under the Arizona Lemon Law by filing the causes for the vehicle not meeting the standards set forth by the law.

The manufacturer might defend themselves in an Arizona Lemon Law case by claiming that the 'non-conformity' of the vehicle in question does not inherently damage the usability of the vehicle, or its market value.

Another point of defense might be to claim that the 'non-conformity' has arisen because of poor treatment of the vehicle on the part of the vehicle's purchaser, or sometimes, unauthorized modifications to the vehicle.

The Arizona Lemon Law presumes that the manufacturer, dealer or agent has been given a fair amount of time to bring any vehicle up to a condition where it conforms to warranties.

This applies to vehicles which have faced at least thirty days of being out of commission due to repairs for the duration of the warranty, or alternately, for two consecutive years or 24,000 miles.

Please note that this assumption under the law does not apply to the manufacturer of the vehicle, unless said manufacturer has been made aware of these significant defects in writing, and has also had a fair amount of time to fix these defects. If these terms are not met, they will face a penalty according to the law.
